Bazuker is a dynamic and energetic trio that specializes in providing live music for pubs, festivals, events and parties in Maldon and surrounding areas in Essex.
Marie plays ukelele and sings lead vocals
Marie has been singing in various bands both in the UK and in Australia from Rock to Pop since 1998. Having played guitar since a young age, music has been a passion for a long time.
Marie has written an album with a previous band called 'RedHotSand' which enabled her love of song writing to be recorded with some great songs in collaboration with Alex Hedges.
Marie started playing the ukelele in 2023 in a local group called 'MUGS' where she progressed quickly and loved playing the 'uke' that she now owns 3 ukeleles (just 3 you ask?) and started a duo with Mark who was playing bass at the group.
Bazuker was born after a small event where Mark and Marie collaborated with a few songs and they started doing local open mic nights and then gigs.
Original music on the ukelele was prompted by a visit to an open mic at Madison Heights where Richard Townend heard Bazuker and asked if they do originals, and invited them to support a gig with the Mighty Bosscats. The journey continues......
Mark plays bass and sings backing vocals
Mark has many years of experience playing the ukelele, guitar and recently playing the bass. He chooses to play the bass in the band, but the truth is, that he can play the ukelele better than Marie.
Mark has always wanted to perform and entertain an audience, but didn't find the right platform, so welcomed the opportunity to form a band, and Bazuker was born.
Bill plays drums and keeps the beat going
Bill has played drums for many years. He currently also does session drumming for other local performers when required and plays at local open mic evenings and Jams as part of the back line. Music is a passion for Bill and it runs in his family with his daughter also in a local band called Diva Purple.
